Researchers in Residence
Citrine’s 2017 Researchers in Residence
Mengfei earned her B.S. in Shanghai Normal University in Civil engineering, and M.S. in Structure Engineering at The Ohio State University. Mengfei is currently a research assistant in the materials science and engineering department with Dr. Stephen Niezgoda at Ohio State University. She is working on quantifying the material variance through non-intrusive stochastic FEM. The long term goal of her PhD research is to create reversible computational linkage between the microstructural topological variability and the macroscale performance uncertainty in manufacturing design.
Katja is majoring in Applied Physics with additional studies in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. With this background she looks to find methods to expedite engineering processes, such as battery design. Her current research focuses on simplifying the safety classification process of chemical compounds as a stepping stone to battery electrolyte optimization. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2019 and am looking to continue my work at a graduate program.
